Temple

Tonight dad and I joined the Ivie's at the temple for Kameron's first time through. For those who don't know he has been called to serve in the New York, Utica Mission. He leaves Sept 23, 2009. For those who don't remember that is Rob's mission! Anyway, it's always good being in the Temple.

Jamie Lynn

It took a family poll to decide whether or not to cut Jamie's hair. Besides bangs, her hair was never cut. BUT, it was way too long and snarly.
I cut off 7 inches of hair!!

Really, can she get any cuter???

Yup, she just did!!

My baby just doesn't look like a baby anymore. Little stinker!! Its sooooooo sad!

JOB

In an effort to not vent about this exhausting, 2-month long journey of heck...I can finally report that today Robert filled out paperwork and he is officially working for Air Harness. This is the company he was to originally work with when we moved. BUT I'm not venting. ;> lol Awesome news...He will make enough to cover our bills and I don't have to babysit!!! YAY!!! ;>

He is starting Wednesday OR Thursday. Either way, he starts this week. The company is avionics work...the aviation stuff he likes. Mon-Fri from after school til 9pm. He will also be working Saturdays. The boss said he may need Rob to change to night school and work days at some point. Please pray that this doesn't happen. If it does, Rob will not have any time to study. He'll be gone from 7:30am to 12:30am. Only home to sleep. :< BUT we are not worrying about it, just praying it won't happen.

Since we are homeschooling, the kids have asked if we could start school later in the morning so that they could still have their bedtime stories with daddy. Hmmmmmm, we agreed but I wonder if we just got "had". lol

We are so grateful for the love and support that we have had during this time. Thank you so much!!!

OH, by the way....Rob and I were sustained this Sunday as Sunbeam teachers. BUT we are not going to talk about that just yet, cus it feels like pouring salt in an open wound.

12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2....and so on.

12 years ago- I only had one month to go until I started my sophomore year. The first day of school was when I met my favorite person in the whole entire galaxy. We had 'film study' class together. He saw me first and told Jon Lewis that he thought I was beautiful and he wanted to date me. I asked him to Sadie's and we've been best friends ever since.

10 years ago- I was still waiting for James while he was serving the Lord in Brazil. And by waiting, I mean I was dating everyone who came along. But have no fear, all those boys I went out with only solidified my belief that James is, indeed, the coolest, hottest, nicest person I knew.

8 years ago- We got married!!! It was a very windy day, so my hair was blowing all to pieces when Jake was trying to take our wedding pictures. When I walked into the sealing room and saw everyone in my family, I felt really special and that what James and I were doing was so important that they all wanted to be there. When I knelt across the alter and looked at James I felt 100% sure that he is the one I wanted to be with forever.

6 years ago- Adam was one year old and Grandma was babysitting him so that James and I could go out to celebrate. We went to Taco Bell and had a candle light dinner in James' parents back yard (why there? I really don't know, actually. They were on vacation, so it didn't matter).

4 years ago- Adam was three, Ian was almost one. We went to Vegas and stayed in the New York New York hotel. I hadn't nursed Ian for a day and was in some pain and looking quite like Pamela Anderson. (note for all the ladies reading this: DO NOT GO ON A ROLLER COASTER WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO WEAN A BABY)

2 years ago- Adam was five, Ian was three and I was two months pregnant with Isaac. We went hiking in Bryce and ate at a really good mom n' pop place on the way back.

Today!- Our boys are thriving and happy as a result of having parents who have fun together, love each other and play guitar hero a lot. Melissa was nice enough to watch our pack of monkeys while we went out with some friends. Thank you so much Len!

And that is our very summarized life that I am tremendously proud of and happy with. Thank you and good night. Sarah

Rob Update

Hey Hey
SO, Rob does not have a job as of yet. Keep him in your prayers as he is working hard to conquer this trial. He is calling UPS today and well...it will be fine! ;>

Mr. Smarty Pants got a 100% on his first two tests...No one else in the class did. ;> Okay, so it sucks for them, but the instructor said Rob made his day!! ;> I smell a good job cooking up when this "school thing" is completed!!! :>

Joe's family's 4th of July

Hey family, I have a few pictures that I can put up, and I'll try to give a short description of what we did. If it sucks...sorry, I've never done this before. Enjoy...

For the first activity we went and hiked Stewart falls above Sundance. It was a sweet little 4 mile hike that takes you through a "well maintained" trail over rocks, roots, bushes, snakes, bugs and other cool stuff. When we got there we played in the ice cold water. Me and the older kids hiked a little higher to see where the water was coming from. Sorry...I don't have those photos with me.

On Saturday we awoke at 5:00 in the stupid morning and went to the balloon launch at 6:00.

First all the balloons get out the bicycle pumps and air up their hot air balloons. Then, after doing the Pledge of Allegiance to our wonderful countries flag they all take off and race to a point to the North. Then they race back to the field they started in and they have two tries to throw a bean bag at a huge target, and pop balloons that are tied to the ground and floating freely at different locations above the target. It's a three day competition. Pretty cool to watch. If you look closely you can see a pink balloon shaped like a piggy bank. Smokey the Bear and Tony the Tiger are out of the picture because they went the wrong way when they took off. Sucks to be them right?

Next we went home and got ready to go to picnic at Nuns park and play at Bridal Veil Falls. We had a great time! I hiked to the top going through the water. There is a trail going to the top, but I like taking the hard road. (If you haven't noticed that about me by now) Oh yea...We went with Kristy's family. Here are some photos for your enjoyment...

After hiking we went to Thanksgiving point to watch their awesome fireworks display. Usually we stay outside the main area so we can make a quick get away, but this time we decided to brave the crowds and go into the main area where all the crazy people are. We got there about 6:00 because they have bands that play, everyone is having a great time, and I wanted to light off my own fireworks. After doing most of them some old lady came over and got mad at me because all the smoke from my fireworks was going their direction. She told me..."Stop doing your fireworks!! Don't you know it's against the rules to light fireworks inside the park!! You're smoking us all out!! Everyone over there is mad at you!!" I let her finish ranting at me, then calmly said..." I was unaware of that. Thanks for letting me know." Then I finished the rest of my fireworks. Now...I know what you're thinking. Joe is such a jerk! and that's probably true, but lots of other people were doing theirs too, and some were just down from her. So I just smiled back at her when she looked at me all huffy, with her hands on her hips when I continued to light my remaining flash bulbs, noise makers and freaking huge fountains. (that make an awful lot of colored smoke) When the real show started all the smoke was coming back toward us and I wanted to go tell the lady that she needs to go tell someone that she was getting smoked out...Kristy wouldn't let me...

That was such a long day...

Sunday we just went to church...nothing important like hiking or or fireworks though.

Monday was Caedens birthday. I took it off work so we had his party early. We took him and two friends to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (awesome movie) then we took them and met Kristy's family at McDonalds where we had a blast playing on the toys, eating the most awesome food the fine workers at McDonalds could make for us, then opened presents and had cake.

Here's my new 5 year old.

Here's my almost 9 year old (July 23)

Alexis managed to miss pictures...

If you didn't notice...Kelsey wasn't with us for anything until the fireworks because she went boating with her friend up by Park City. So I'm showing you this picture of her so you know she's still part of our family.

That's it...I hope you liked it...

Thank You

I wanted to say thank you for those who fasted for Rob this past weekend. We truly appreciate dad thinking of us and all of you for simply loving us. I have so much more I want to write on our experiences these past few weeks, but if Rob catches me not doing my homework I'm in big trouble! lol In 5 weeks I will have conquered another degree (Associates in BA) so I have 6 papers a week. ;>
GIVE ROB A EXTRA PRAYER TONIGHT. HE IS GOING TO UPS FOR A "TOUR AND INTERVIEW" AT 11PM!!!

Continuation to our Fishing trip

I'm not sure why but it wouldn't let me write anything next to my picture. Me and Jay went fishing and it was a blast. I haven't had so much fun in a long time. I caught a few fish but they weren't the right size to keep so I just took pictures. The kids were with their dad so we had the weekend to ourselves and Jay's dad has some friends that have a boat they said we could use. It really made our weekend. We can't wait to go back.

What happened?????

One day this past week we came home and found Matt's beloved pumpkin plant as you see it now! Dad watered it again to see if it was just plain thirsty but to no avail. So we left it for a few days and then noticed the green was turning to yellow and little ugly bugs were getting on the stem near the pumpkin. We cut it off and brought the pumpkin inside where it is cool and dry since nowhere outside matches that description. Hmm.... I bet some of our farmer friends in AZ could tell us what happened. Ü

Matthew we hope it will stay good until we come for your baptism first part of September!

Skimming at the river

We love going to the river to hang out and have James attempt to teach us to skim. The boys like to try a couple of times and then do other stuff, but I just plain can't do it. You will see how lame I am at the end of the video ( and p.s. in retrospect, I have two words for myself: sun bathing).
Skiz just likes to sit in the water and throw mud at anyone close.
