My adorables

I've got too many pictures that I want to share but nothing to say so just look and smile. Yes, I know I have a little favorite but just don't say anything to the rest of them.

Too cute not to share

I love this picture. I just caught all of them hanging out together. I think it was too precious not to share. Trev of course was in my room on the computer, where else would he be?

My Sweetheart!

I didn't add to the birthday list my very own sweetheart! He's been my sweetheart for many, many years. I met him when I was 15 1/4. Ü (almost 40 years ago) Of course we couldn't date until I turned 16 so we tried to go to as many stake things for youth as possible so we could see each other. He lived across town, which in Tucson Arizona meant about an hour drive. I lived on the North West side, he on the South East. At first it was all one stake. After meeting it seems it was only a few months and then they split the stake so we weren't even in each others stake! ;< In November of that year (1969) they had a Golden Green Ball and both stakes were invited. So even though I was a week away from turning 16, since it was a once in a lifetime event, my parents let me go to the dance with him. I made a pink satin umpire long dress with pink shoes to match. My hair perfectly flipped up all the way around and I felt pretty special! (picture to follow when found). He was the perfect gentleman.

He received his mission call in January of 1970 to go to the Central America mission. He left in March! I remember how lonely I was after he left. I had a really hard time dating at first. I just kept thinking of him and comparing to the poor boy I was with! But we agreed that I should date and "grow" while he was gone and "growing". So I did. (I actually enjoyed dating for about a year until he came home.)

He came home in March of 1972; after realizing that we still felt the same way about each other after two years, we married in the Provo Temple on the following June 23rd. He has treated me like a queen ever since. (36 1/2 years) I appreciate so much his patience for me and my idiocyncracies. (wow! I hope I spelled that close to what is right). He's my best friend and confidant! As you all know he's kind of on the quiet side. But he has a dry sense of humor that keeps us laughing in the face of challenges. Of course there have been tears but we keep on smiling together. We depend on each other for everything and I thank my Heavenly Father for this awesome man that my children call dad.

Happy Birthday Michael!

We really want to celebrate this happy day with you! Zippety ay and hiddy ho there's something we can do. We'll sing a song that we all know..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" 4:18 pm is when our Elder Joshua Gibson will arrive at the St George airport on Tuesday, February 3, 2009! I think we should make posters and have balloons and party whistle blowers.... well, maybe the other guests at the airport wouldn't appreciate the party whistle blowers! MOM

Visit of Grandma Gibson and Donna

I believe most of you know that on December 22 dad went to Gilbert Arizona to get grandma and Donna. This is what he wanted most for Christmas. I really didn't think they would come, but to my pleasant surprise they agreed! So then on the 23rd they traveled back here to St. George. He took them home on January 1 and came home on January 3.
We truly enjoyed their visit! I was glad dad was not working and was able to spend quality AND quantity time with his mom and sister. Poor grandma on the other hand is probably delighted to be home after getting cold showers and nights of sleeping with socks, shoes, sweaters and extra blankets!!! haha Wouldn't you know that when they were here to visit our water heater was acting up and so did our heater! We have replaced the compressor on the heater ($800 for just the labor! compressor was still under warranty fortunately) and we think the thermostat has gone out on the water heater. To be determined on another day when there is enough light and time. We plog along until then.

We tried to go see a movie on Christmas day only to sit and wait, and wait, in the theater and for them to announce there was a problem and they couldn't play the movie. So we got our tickets approved to be used any other time and movie and left. ~sigh~

Really I think grandma had an enjoyable time. I know she loved seeing all her grandchildren and talking to Josh on Christmas day. I just feel so bad because these two pictures are the only ones I got the whole time they were here. Oh, well. It's proof that they were here. Ü
